Hi, I'm reaching out to you because we're kicking off an awareness campaign about the link between mental health and addiction. Many people don't realize that addiction often co-occurs with other mental health disorders, and it's critical to treat both conditions in order for afflicted individuals to live happier, healthier lives.
In order to spread awareness on this issue, we're doing a couple of things. First, we're asking that you share these resources related to mental health and addiction with your site visitors.

Comorbidity with Substance Abuse
Schizophrenia and Addiction
Bipolar Disorder and Addiction
The Benefits of Exercise in Addiction Recovery
Swim Back to Health: Aquatic Therapy for Recovering Addicts
Making the Connection: Trauma and Substance Abuse
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Substance Abuse
Meaningful Work and Recovery

Second, we're requesting the privilege of writing an original, research-based article on this topic for your site. This will be done absolutely *free* of charge — this is truly a subject we're passionate about. Let me know your thoughts, and thank you in advance!
Best, Jennifer

While I've known a handful of people throughout my life that were open about their battle with depression, I truly had no idea that as many as 1 in 10 people will suffer from it at some point in their lifetime. Not only that, but depression can fuel other disorders, like chronic anxiety and even substance abuse – and vice versa!
I can't help but think that I or even someone I love may someday succumb to depression, so for the sake of my family, I decided to take action. I built the following list of resources to share with others, because who knows how many people may quietly be fighting this illness?

Take Charge of Your Dual Diagnosis: Your Resource Guide
Optimum Nutrition for Depression
Health and You: How Swimming Can Help Reduce Symptoms of Depression
Talking with Your Doctor about Depression
How Service and Therapy Dogs are Helping PTSD Victims
How to Talk with Someone You Love When They are Depressed
9 Best Ways to Support Someone with Depression
How Caregivers Can Take Better Care of Themselves

Thank you so much for helping bring this important topic some well-deserved attention!
I hope this information is useful! In health, Patricia S.,
