He was 21 years old at the time of his death.
Joe Winko was later adopted and cared for by foster parents.

According to Joe Winko's YouTube channel, his adoptive mother was authoritarian.

10.14.25, Prima M., He was quite troubled obviously. Sometimes those that are depressed or have thoughts of ending it all almost become obsessed with others who have completed the task. RIP young man.

10.14.25, Lee R., I watched a few of his videos and he seemed fixated on those who kept their final fatal appointment with the Skyway, as well as others who went willingly in other ways. Of course, there are lots of people who are all about doom and gloom who don't do what he did... But then again, it isn't totally surprising. Very sad.
